Marzemino is the wine praised by Mozart in his opera "Don Giovanni" as "The excellent Marzemino", is made from grapes grown on the dark basaltic soil of the hillsides of Isera. Reminiscent of Gamay wine. D.O.C. protected since 1982, it is pergola-cultivated in hilly areas. Once harvested, it is left to ferment and develop in steel vats.

Maximum yield of wine from grapes: 70%.
Minimum alcohol level: 11ø.
Minimum total acidity: 4.5 ppt.
Minimum net dry extract: 20 ppt.

Sensory analysis: in color, ruby red; characteristic and accentuated
odor; dry, full, appealing and slightly grassy flavor.
Qualifications: whenever the wine is aged for at least two years and has
a minimum alcohol level of 11.5ø, it can be labeled a Riserva.
Types: it is produced in a "Secco" or Dry version.

The Marzemino grape bunch is of medium size with characteristic “wings”.
Extremely sweet grapes. The grapes themselves are fairly small and blue-black in colour with a thick resistant skin.
Blue-black in colour.
Fetches diseases easy. Sensitive to late frosts, poorly resistant to illness.
Often to high to be good for the wine.
Red wine. Sometimes sparkling.
Ruby red with violet highlights
Rich with notes of almond and violet.
Cherries and hints of chocolate with an underlying leathery, cigar box
character.
Spicy on bitter base.
Cured pork products, mushrooms, polenta, hard cheeses.
It can be served with white meats such as chicken and pork.
